INTRODUCING: OUR NEW FLOWER SCHOOL HOME

The glorious month of May is a particularly significant time in the floral calendar as it brings with it a bounty of some of our best-loved stems - from blousy peonies to proud delphiniums, fragrant sweetpeas to quintessential garden roses. May 2021 is cause for even more celebration as it marks the relocation and opening of the brand new Mcqueens International Flower School right in the heart of London’s Mayfair.

Now in its 23rd year, the school has trained students from all over the globe, offering first-class teaching, technique, skills and bold artistry from some of the most talented tutors in flower design. Beginning life in Old Street, the school eventually moved further East to Bethnal Green, joining the rest of McQueens Flowers family as the company quickly expanded.

In this time the school’s reputation grew exponentially, so much so that its philosophy has spread across the world with the team hosting floristry programmes in Australia, Dubai, China and Mexico - with permanent locations opening in the United States and South Korea. At the end of 2019, it was revealed that McQueens Flowers would open a new flagship store in the heart of Mayfair - with McQueens International Flower School joining the relocation.

Housed within a stunning Grade II listed building on charming North Audley Street - and at the heart of the McQueens Flowers flagship are two purpose-built classrooms. Designed and crafted by London architects, Dedraft, the space is equipped to ensure our tutors can provide students with an environment to thrive and enjoy the finest floristry education.

To coincide with the relocation, our talented tutors led by School Principal Sophie Powell, have extensively redesigned our renowned professional floristry course - taking advantage of our new location to bring alive the work we do for clients every day. The exciting and extended new curriculum brings alive McQueens Flowers’ unique ability to ‘teach what we do, and do what we teach’.

As well as the signature career course, the school is renowned for its rich programme of half and one-day workshops - these incredibly popular, fun and informal classes span a variety of themes - from terrarium building through to the Japanese art of Ikebana. Each lesson is led by one of our talented and experienced tutors - get to know our brilliant team here. Since reopening the school doors just over two weeks ago, we have been overwhelmed by the response to our classes - as a result, we are thrilled to be able to extend and reopen previously fully booked dates. For enquiries and questions about any of our classes, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our wonderful School Administrator, Eleni, who you can meet over on the McQueens Flowers Journal. We can’t wait to welcome you to our spectacular new home and take you on an unforgettable floral journey!
