Every arrangement that leaves our studio has been made with care, intention and the very best flowers available. With a little attention, your flowers with reward you.

Floral Care

When your bouquet arrives, lift it gently from its bag or box and remove the wrapping. Either remove the string to rearrange as you please or keep the string in place if you would like to hold the design together exactly as our florists intended.
Remove any leaves or foliage that would sit below the waterline. This keeps the water clean and significantly helps extend the life of your flowers.
Fill a clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water and dissolve your enclosed flower food sachet into it. Flower food is not a luxury - it contains the nutrients your flowers need to thrive.
Using clean scissors or secateurs, cut each stem at an angle approximately 2 to 3cm from the base. For any woody or thick stems, make a small split upwards from the cut to help the water absorption. Trim to a length that suits your vase.
Place the bouquet into the prepared vase, ensuring the water level reaches all stems, including any shorter ones in the centre of the arrangement.
Position your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, draughts radiators, air conditioning units and ripening fruit. Ethylene gas from fruit accelerates petal drop.
Change the water and re-trim the stems every two to three days to keep your flowers looking their best for as long as possible.
As the bouquet matures, individual stems will reach the end of their life at different times. Simply remove them as they fade - what remains will continue to look beautiful.

A well cared-for arrangement can last approximately 5-7 days.

Festive Care

Our festive pieces are built from evergreens - spruce, pine, eucalyptus, berried branches and scented herbs. These love the cold and ask very little of you.

A fresh door wreath looks out best outdoors, where cold air keeps it beautiful for around 2 weeks. Indoors and in warmth, expect closer to a week. Mist it every few days and keep it clear of heated surfaces.
Festive arrangements and centrepieces are often set in florist's foam that holds water for the flowers. Top it up gently every couple of days - pour slowly until the foam takes no more - and keep the display somewhere cool.
If your arrangement is designed with candles, never leave them burning unattended, and remove them well before the flame reaches the foliage.
Garlands are happiest misted daily and kept away from radiators. Cool and lightly watered, they will hold their colour and scent through the season.

As with all fresh flowers, the cooler the room, the longer they last.

Orchid Plants

Place in a bright, well lit position but away from direct sunlight.
Keep away from draughts and avoid temperatures below 12 or above 25 degrees Celsius
Gently remove the decorative moss and set to one side. Mist the orchids roots and leaves once a week. When you've finished watering, simply replace the moss back over the roots to hold the moisture in. Give the moss a light mist.
Wipe dust from leaves occasionally to allow full light absorption and mist them weekly.
With proper care, blooms should last approximately 4 weeks. Once flowering is complete, cut the stem back to the third node above the leaves.
With patience, care and time a new stem may appear bringing fresh blooms to your orchid.
