    Job Title: Senior Contract Florist (Full Time)

    Role:

    The job-holder will be a valued member of the McQueens talent team, with responsibility for helping to produce exceptional floral designs and installations. A senior member in a team of Florists and Assistant Florists, the applicant needs to demonstrate a high level of creativity and technical competence as well as well-developed communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

    Our customers include some of the world’s most luxurious and demanding hotels, restaurants and event venues, and organisers – all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to providing to them. Senior Florists play a vital role in making this happen and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and exceptional quality.

    The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure. Early morning starts are common and overnight shifts are sometimes necessary.

    Duties:

    - Designing creative and profitable floral designs that perfectly meet our client’s brief
    - Sometimes a small team of florists on a project-by-project basis
    - Preparation of on-brand design concepts, mood boards and detailed presentations as required
    - Detailed planning of designs and installations
    - Preparation of vases, materials, and equipment.
    - Conditioning and preparation of flowers in the workroom
    - Styling and setting up of displays and installation of agreed floral designs
    - Loading and unloading of vans
    - Driving to and from customers’ premises and venues as required
    - Tidying up and removal of waste after installation.
    Break down and clearance of installations and displays
    Planned and unplanned maintenance of arrangements between installations
    Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times
    Driving vans to and from hotels

    Requirements:

    - Experience in designing and installing creative floral designs
    - Creativity and passion
    - An ability to plan ahead
    A team player
    - Advanced knowledge of flower varieties and floristry techniques
    - A strong understanding of customer needs, delighting them and going the extra mile
    - Excellent knowledge of the flower industry
    - Highly organised with good attention to detail
    - Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
    - Minimum 6 years of experience working in the flower industry, with at least 2 years of experience of contract floristry
    - A commitment to continuing their professional development
    - Good oral and written communicator in English
    - A full UK Driving licence

Generally working as part of a team, Events Florists need to demonstrate creativity and technical competence as well as well-developed communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

    Our customers include some of the world’s most luxurious and demanding hotels, restaurants and event venues and organisers – all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to provide to them. Florists play an important role in making this happen and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and quality.

    The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure. Most of the work we do is carried out when guests are asleep or venues are closed, so early morning starts are common and night shifts sometimes necessary.

    Duties:

    - Preparation of vases, materials, and equipment in the workroom to then install at our event venues
    Conditioning and preparation of flowers in the workroom
    Working with the events team to deliver flawless events for our customers
    Support the creation of mood boards and events briefs
    - Communicating with customers while working on installs
    Ordering flowers as required
    Driving vans to and from events

    Requirements:

    Job Title: Senior Tutor 

    Role: 

    The job-holder will be a valued member of the McQueens Flower School talent team, with responsibility for teaching and educating our students the beautiful art of floristry. Generally leading a class of aspiring florists this job-holder will demonstrate a high level of creativity and technical competence as well as well-developed communication, teamwork and organisational skills.  

    With more than just amazing floristry skills, this job-holder will also handle behind the scenes organisation with their impressive computer skills, lesson planning and delivery, and have a passion for inspiring and developing budding new florists’ skills.  

    The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure. Most of the work we do is carried out when guests are asleep or venues are closed, so early morning starts are common and night shifts sometimes necessary. 

    Duties:

    - Teaching a group of aspiring florists a number of different courses to the highest standard  
    - Preparing lesson plans and developing new course ideas 
    - Ordering of flowers and other items within budget for courses
    Working with the tutor team to develop the courses and better ways of teaching
    - Preparation of vases, materials and equipment for courses 
    - Conditioning and preparation of flowers
    - Styling displays and installations in class to match the agreed curriculums
    - Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times
    Requirements:

    Experience in teaching floristry and working with students
    Creativity and passion
    A proven ability to prepare and manage budgets 
    An ability to plan ahead and be highly organised with good attention to detail
    A team player
    - Advanced knowledge of flower varieties and floristry techniques 
    - A strong understanding of student needs, delighting them and going the extra mile
    - Excellent knowledge of the flower industry
    - Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
    Minimum 5 years of experience working in the flower industry
    A commitment to continuing their professional development  as well as that of those within their team
    Good oral and written communicator in English
    - Computer literate 
    A full UK Driving licence
