Linen - A Seasonal Take On the Classic White Wedding Palette
Last week it was with great excitement that we introduced you to Bon Bon – the first of a year-round series of wedding and events inspiration created by our incredibly talented London Weddings and Events Team. Designed to delight, inspire, and most importantly celebrate the season’s most bountiful flowers and foliage, Bon Bon marked the start of our new series and today we are thrilled to introduce you to the second – Linen.
Designed by Lead Creative, Alison Lythgoe, this classic collection was inspired by clear late winter sunlight, crisp early spring mornings, and rich evergreens sparkling with frost – a series of celebratory designs evoking all the magic and cool anticipation of an English garden at the start of spring.
From a giant, floral urn, and a striking table centrepiece to low table designs and a series of vessels filled with mixed stems, each arrangement is brimming with a classic combination of seasonal florals in soft ivory and cream hues – a variation on the classic 'white wedding' as described by Alison:
"White wedding flowers will never go out of fashion. Linen is an updated version on a classic, moving away from 'pure white' roses and hydrangea – which can be sourced all year around – and embracing what is in season right now. The result is more of a neutral, spring palette with an abundance of rich texture and movement."
Large-headed roses and ruffled ranunculi nestle alongside giant, white clematis and sweetly scented lilac – gently nodding Guelder rose, long-stemmed French tulips and trailing jasmine add texture and movement throughout the loosely domed, gently garden-style designs. Both classic and contemporary, each arrangement would be equally well suited to a decadent ballroom as it would a rustic, countryside manor.
All the vessels featured in our collections, from giant urns and glass vases to footed bowls and delicate bottles, have been carefully selected from the McQueens Events props store – a vast collection of floral hardware in a range of finishes to suit every occasion and venue. Not only are they beautiful but they serve a more eco-conscious purpose, too, with each vessel hand selected and vetted by our team to ensure it can be used with eco-conscious mechanics. As with Bon Bon, the Linen collection was made completely floral-foam free.
